Forum: faqs Subject: Should I upload my scans of copyrighted books?

I'm confused because of two factors:

1. Suppose I uploaded my scans. They are still under copyright. Archive keeps them hidden, until copyright expires. Obviously, it's good for Archive to have these scans - no need to scan these books again.

2. There might be some legal formalities that spoil the obvious benefits for Archive.

P.S: these scans I have are mostly Russian textbooks in DjVu format. Also, some Russian translations of English textbooks. And there are 20 Gb of them.
